Madeline M. Acosta is a seasoned criminal defense and family law attorney with over 200 trials to her name.
Madeline M. Acosta earned her law degree at Nova Southeastern University School of Law in 2001. She graduated with Honors for her superior trial advocacy skills and was granted a rare admittance to the National Order of Barristers.
Proceeding law school, Ms. Acosta joined the Miami-Dade County Public Defender's Office, where she tried a myriad of cases, including violent and sexual crimes, ranging from drug possession, to DUI, to first degree murder. Rising quickly through the ranks, she became Senior Supervising Attorney of the Felony Division, a position where she would train new attorneys, teaching them the craft of criminal defense, particularly trial advocacy. During this time, Ms. Acosta also successfully spearheaded her own private family law practice. She has zealously represented individuals in contested and uncontested divorces, child support, alimony, and modifications of custody cases.
Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Acosta has conducted seminars in the legal community, lecturing lawyers regarding the various and important roles women play in the legal field. She has also taught continuing legal education courses on theories of defense, the art of discovery, cross examination, and jury selection.
Ms. Acosta has aggressively tried well over 200 trials during the course of her career, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every client she represents. Ms. Acosta is admitted to practice before the federal court of the Southern District of Florida, as well as all Florida state courts. She is also fluent in Spanish.
